The 30-square-kilometer Ko Adang is covered with forests and freshwater streams. Lots of snorkeling tours make a stop here, but there are mooring buoys to prevent damage from anchors. The 30-square-kilometer Ko Adang is covered with forests and freshwater streams. Lots of snorkeling tours make a stop here, but there are mooring buoys to prevent damage from anchors. Inland are jungle trails and tumbling waterfalls, including Pirate’s Falls, which, rumor has it, pirates once used as a freshwater source. There are great views from Chado Cliff, above the main beach, and green turtles lay their eggs here between September and December. Ko Rawi is 1 km west of Ko Adang and has similar limestone hills and dense jungle, with nice beaches and large coral reefs offshore. Wild camping is allowed with permission from the national park authorities. Other excellent snorkeling spots include the northern side of Ko Yang and tiny Ko Hin Ngam, which is known for its beautiful stripy pebbles. Legend has it the stones are cursed and anyone who takes one will experience bad luck until the stones are returned to their source. The only accommodation is provided by the national park service, which maintains a ranger station at Laem Son in the southeast of Ko Adang, where the pier is also located. There are bungalows, longhouses and places to pitch your tent. A small restaurant provides basic meals, but it's not a bad idea to bring some food from the mainland.
