Day visitors spend time shopping for souvenirs in Road Town or taxi cross-island to popular Cane Garden Bay, a crescent-shaped inlet on the north shore featuring a long stretch of palm-shaded white sand bordering the turquoise sea. Travelers with more time sail along the sparsely developed coastline, dive shipwrecks and protected reefs in the Underwater National Park, hike to the top of 1,780-foot Mount Sage in Sage Mountain National Park, or day-trip to the dozens of nearby islands.
